The Arizona Secretary of State, Business Services Division (SOSAZ) maintains the database of over two hundred thousand liens for the state of Arizona. These liens are continuously updated through the process of filing Uniform Commercial Code documents (UCC) at the SOSAZ, where they are imaged and keyed into the UCC system. The UCC filings and most images of the filings are accessible, and completely searchable, to the public via the Internet at http://www.azsos.gov.

The UCC Filing Index (UCCFI) from the SOSAZ contains a complete index of all UCC documents on file at SOSAZ. Because of the enormity of the request, only the information in the index can be sold to the public, not the images. The information is the same information presented in the UCCMFI.

The UCC Monthly Filing Index (UCCMFI) from the SOSAZ typically contains over five thousand records of UCC documents filed at the SOS in a given month. The index is published on the 10^th of each month, 12 times a year. The UCCMFI is comprised of the filings for the previous month and contains the TIFF images (indexed) of the filings along with four informational files: Filing.txt, Lien.txt, Debtor.txt and Secparty.txt. The UCCMFI contains therein:

• UCC documents filed with the Arizona Secretary of State
• Date filed and entered
• Lien status for affected filings
• Current Debtors and Secured Parties for the filing (i.e. shows the amended data if exists, does not show the things removed by amendments)

Note: Collateral is NOT entered into the UCC system and therefor is NOT available.

Since UCC documents are continuously filed, SOS can only guarantee the veracity of the file on its issuance date. Requests for the data must be done in writing and must be accompanied by a check or money order.

Logfile.txt is the index of the images contained in the UCCMFI. At present, images of filings are stored in single page TIFFs. Therefore there are multiple TIFF files to a single filing, which is denoted by the Pagenumber in this index.

• (FileNo, Suffixno, Seqno, Pagenumber) is the unique identifier
• A Filing Number is actually made up of FileYear + FileNo + Suffixno where
• FileYear is the year in which the filing was presented
• FileNo is the 7 digit number internal number
• Suffixno is the Check digit of the filing, using weighted checksums
• However internally, a filing is linked through these tables by FileNo + SuffixNo only.
• FileYear represents the year in which the filing was presented
• FileNo represents the master filing number
• Suffix is an extension of the file number used to differentiate old filings that were allowed to have the same file number. Under Revised Article 9, this is the Check Digit part of the Filing number--derived from FileYear and FileNo
• Seqno is the sequential number this filing represents with relation to the original filing
• Datefiled is the Filing received date, not the data entry date.
• DateEntered/FicheCartridge is the date the Filing was keyed into the system, and Fiche Cartridge is the batch (internal use)
• PageNumber is the pagenumber of the image with respect to the filing
• Filename is the name of the TIFF file for this record

Lien.txt is the main index to the Liens. A lien is represented by at least one filing.

• FileYear represents the year in which the filing was presented
• FileNo and Suffix are the unique identifier
• FileNo represents the lien number within the Arizona Secretary of State
• Suffix is an extension of the file number used to differentiate old filings that were allowed to have the same file number. Under Revised Article 9, this is the Check Digit part of the Filing number--derived from FileYear and FileNo
• Lientype is the type of the lien (LienTypes.txt - [S]tandard, [T]ax, [U]tility, [M]obile Home, [B]ulk Sale, [R]acketeering, Restitutio[N])
• LienStatus is the status of the lien (LienStatus.txt - [T]erminated, [A]ctive, [L]apsed, [E]xpunged Transmitting Utility, [X]Lapsed Terminated )
• LienVisibility is the Active/Inactive flag relative to non-lapsed filings and lapsed past one year ([A]ctive, [I]nactive)
• DateLastfiling is the date of the last filing against the lien
• DateOrg is the date the Lien originated
• DateExpires is the date the Lien is projected to expire

Filing numbers. Filing numbers are updated to allow for a check digit. Filing number will become the Year the filing was made in, a seven digit number and a check digit. The three portions of this number make up the unique number identified by the office.
