Mr. Chairman & Members of the Committee, my name is Jan Brewer, Arizona Secretary of State.
Many of you may know, when I was a legislator, I successfully supported restricting driver’s licenses to persons who legally reside in Arizona.
Throughout this past election cycle, I strongly supported requiring persons to present a driver’s license when registering or voting. I find it incredible that you have to present a driver’s license to cash a check or to enter a bar, but not required to do so when determining the future of our great country.
I want to thank Representative Gray for moving
forward with this bill, and I’d be happy to answer any questions.
