USS Arizona Memorial Postage Stamp to be Unveiled

A local veteran who survived the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor will join Secretary of State Ken Bennett and U.S. Postal Service officials to commemorate the issuance of a new USS Arizona Memorial postage stamp during a brief ceremony beneath a gun barrel salvaged from the USS Arizona, now on display as part of the State Capitol’s World War II Memorial in Phoenix.

Thomas, Bennett and Morgan will unveil a giant version of the new USS Arizona Memorial stamp. The new $19.99 stamp is intended to be used for shipping Priority Express Mail envelopes. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony.
The new stamp was first issued four days ago in ceremonies at the site of the USS Arizona Memorial on the coast of Oahu, Hawaii.
