Secretary of State Michele Reagan was unanimously elected to serve on the National Lieutenant Governors Association’s Executive Committee during last week’s annual meeting in Indianapolis.  The committee meets three times a year to chart the course of policy issues to be pursued by the nation’s second-highest state and territorial officeholders.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be elected to serve with such an amazing group of people in a leadership role,” said Secretary Reagan.  “Not only is this a great opportunity to share Arizona’s best practices with other elected officials around the country, it will help us identify opportunities for further economic growth and improved quality of life.”

“Secretary Reagan was nominated to this position by a bi-partisan group of her peers,” said NLGA Director Julia Hurst.  “Her unanimous election among officials of both parties from every region of the country speaks to the high regard she is held in among her peers.”

The NLGA provides research and best practices exchange to the officeholders first in line of succession to governor in all 50 states and the U.S. territories.

The National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA), organized in 1962, is the professional association for the elected officials first in line of succession to the governors in the 50 states and five U.S. territories.  The mission of NLGA is, in part, to foster interstate cooperation and to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the office.
