The Problem: We anticipate the turnout for this fall's General Election to be as high as 80%. Given there are 2.7 million registered voters in Arizona that means over 2 million people will cast a ballot, most of them at a polling location. Arizona needs over 14,000 poll workers to properly staff the polling locations.

THE SOLUTION: The Secretary of State's office is challenging corporations to encourage and accommodate their employees in becoming volunteers.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

  • Accommodate your employees taking the day off to become a poll worker by letting them work the polls without taking a vacation day
  • Encourage your employees to become a poll worker by promoting it on your website, in team meetings, and inserts in payroll checks
  • Becoming a financial sponsor for the SoS Poll Worker Campaign.

COMPANIES WHO HAVE TAKEN THE CHALLENGE:

  • Arizona State University
  • COX Communications
  • Realty Executives
  • SCF Arizona
  • Target
  • Wal-Mart
  • Waste Management
  • Wells Fargo
  • Qwest

CONTACT: If you wish to participate or have further questions, please call Craig Stender at (602) 364-1620 or sign up HERE.
