Secretary of State Jan Brewer To Sign Presidential Election Canvass with Republican and Democratic Party Leaders

Official Canvass for 2008 Presidential Preference Election are the Final Statewide Results

PHOENIX -- Arizona Secretary of State Jan Brewer will sign the Official Canvass of the 2008 Presidential Preference Election (PPE) on Friday, February 15. Results of the canvass will show the final number of votes cast for Democrat and Republican Presidential candidates here in Arizona. The canvass will also show the final voter turnout for the PPE which was held on February 5, 2008.

This year, the Secretary of State has invited the participating party leaders to be on hand for the canvass. By law, only those voters affiliated with a statewide recognized party that participated in the presidential preference election were allowed to vote.

“Arizona’s election workforce has worked diligently over the past several months to put on this important election, and once again we’ve kept our promises to Arizonan’s to ensure that their vote counts.”

Copies of the Official Canvass will also available at the Secretary of State’s office on the 7th floor of the State Capitol.
