PHOENIX – Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan will be at the Maricopa County Library District Guadalupe Branch Library Thursday, March 10 for the launch of their new early literacy and technology program, “Ready, Set, Go … Kindergarten Here We Go.” The program was made possible through the Arizona State Library with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The presentation is 11 a.m. at 9241 S. Avenida del Yaqui, Guadalupe, Ariz.

“Children’s future success is built on a strong educational foundation,” said Secretary of State Michele Reagan, whose office oversees the State Library. “I am glad to present this grant to the Maricopa County Library District for the Guadalupe Branch. The commitment to bring a technology-focused early literacy program to the community will have a lasting effect for the future.”

The new program will enhance the development of literacy skills among young children, 3 to 6 years old, who have not had the opportunity to enroll in an early education setting. Funds will be used to acquire a Smart Table, an easel and seating. The technology-focused early literacy program will help prepare children for kindergarten.
