The World War II Battle of Midway is one of the most important dates in U.S. naval history. A commemoration ceremony hosted by the Battle of Midway Commemoration Committee will take place June 5, at the Arizona Capitol Museum.
As part of the remembrance Jack Holder, 93, of Sun Lakes, a Pearl Harbor survivor and participant in the Midway battle will recount his experiences. Additionally, retired Navy Rear Admiral Hugh Dennis Wisely will speak to the importance of naval aviation and its future as a necessary ingredient in the Nation's defense. Marshall Trimble, Arizona's official state historian and Marine veteran, will preside over the event as Master of Ceremonies.
