To encourage students to register and participate in the upcoming Presidential Preference Election (PPE), the Arizona Secretary of State’s office will be joining forces with students from Arizona State University to hold a Mock Presidential Primary on National Voter Registration Day.
The mock election will be held on Hayden Lawn of ASU’s Tempe campus from 11a-3p. Along with the ability to register to vote, students will be able to choose from a Republican or Democratic ballot and vote for one of the announced candidates for President. Results will be revealed by the Secretary of State via social media on Twitter @SecretaryReagan and Facebook.com/AZSecretaryofState.
The PPE is scheduled for March 22, 2016 with early balloting beginning on February 24. Registration closes two days earlier on February 22. By federal statute, the PPE is a closed election where only members of the political parties on the ballot are allowed to participate.
Parking is available within the Apache Boulevard parking structure on the corner of Apache & Normal. The entrance is on the north side of the building on E. Lemon.
